Harvey Kapnick Research and Education Center at the Naples Botanical Gardens, Naples, FL

Established through a collaboration between the Garden and Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), the center serves as a hub for research, education, and community engagement in the fields of botany and environmental science. This one-story laboratory facility features 6 laboratory classrooms organized along an outdoor, single-loaded walkway overlooking a courtyard of trees and plants. Also included are offices and a lecture hall. The building was designed to take a backseat to the gardens to celebrate nature. Water collected from the roof flows into the courtyard from an oversized gutter, making the facility an enjoyable experience rain or shine.
