Nova Southeastern University, Fort Myers, FL
Originally designed as an office building for an engineer on the fourth floor, and spec office space on the first three floors, Nova became aware of the project during construction and purchased it for it Fort Myers location. The 60,000 sf facility now features classrooms with seating capacities from 10 to 175, computer labs, videoconferencing suites, and a fitness center for the students. Offices and lunge spaces are also provided.
Set against the Big Cypress Preserve, the building was positioned in the southeastern corner of the site to maximize uninterrupted views of the beautiful preserve. The large entry atrium is a move to bring the preserve to the entry and allow those arriving at the building to also experience the preserve before entering the building.
