St. Mary’s Home at Asbury Ridge

Owned and run by the Sisters of St. Joseph, St. Mary’s Home at Asbury Ridge is situated on a 34-acre site in Millcreek Township. This facility includes 74 residential living units, 16 Alzheimer’s residential living units, and an 80-bed Skilled Nursing Facility with all private rooms. There is also a public area and chapel at the entry to the facility where the offices and reception are located. The client was concerned that, with the size of the program, the building would appear large and monolithic, like an apartment complex, and was adamant about making sure it felt like a village. The large scale elements were broken down in scale with smaller roof elements to achieve the effect of a village; the owner was thrilled with the results.
